All campers should submit a placement audition video for each ensemble you are interested in (Concert Band, Choir, Musical Theatre, Jazz Band)
- Concert Band submit any of the following
- Solo and Ensemble piece
- Honor Band or other audition etude
- Studies or materials from private lessons
- If you don’t have any of the above, use what you’re currently playing in your home group.
- Concert Choir
- Recent Solo/Ensemble piece
- Or something from your choir music
- Musical Theater
- If you are interested in auditioning for a lead role in the musical theatre program, please provide a video recording of one song that best exemplifies your acting/singing ability
- Jazz Band
- Wind Instruments
- The melody from a jazz standard (your band director can help pick something if you’re unsure) OR your part from music you’ve played in jazz band, and
- IF you have improvisation experience, 2 improvised solo choruses of a 12 bar blues. (If you don’t know how to improvise, NO WORRIES! Remember - No previous jazz experience required to participate in jazz band!
- Rhythm Section Instruments
- Guitar and Piano - The melody from a jazz standard (your band director can help pick something if you’re unsure) OR a melodic part from music you’ve played in jazz band.
- All Rhythm Section Instruments – Play “time” for 2 choruses of a 12 bar blues.
- String orchestra submit any of the following:
- solo and ensemble piece
- honor orchestra or other audition etude
- studies or materials from private lessons
- if you don't have any of the above, use what you're currently playing in your home group.
