Technology and Laptop Requirement

All incoming music majors must take MUS 164, Introduction to Music Technology, in their first year of core courses. MUS 164 is a prerequisite for MUS 351 (second year music theory core).

In order to facilitate student technology needs for these and other classes, all music majors must own a laptop that meets the minimum requirements:

Windows 10 (64-bit) or later
8GB RAM, 40GB storage or better
OR
macOS 11 or later
8GB RAM, 40GB storage or better

Unfortunately, due to certain software required for core music theory courses, computers running ChromeOS or Linux do not currently meet these requirements.
