Spearheaded by our Assistant Professor of Horn and Music Education, Martin King, the event brought 108 horn players and 8 vendors to Pullman for three days of concerts, masterclasses, presentations, exhibits, and competitions. The event featured several guest artists, including the U.S. Army Brass Quintet; Bernhard Scully (professor of horn at the University of Illinois, formerly of the Canadian Brass); and Skip Snead (professor of horn and director of the School of Music at the University of Alabama), who performed and gave masterclasses at the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wsu-spacing-after--large\">A special congratulations to WSU\u2019s own Ivy Quartet for winning the 2024 Northwest Horn Symposium Horn Quartet Competition. The quartet is made up of undergraduate horn players: Nicholas Yoon, Orion Stankus, Kathy Nguyen, and Steven Randall.
