Patrick Donoghue

Congratulations to Patrick Donoghue, who was selected as a winner of the American Indian Musicians’ Scholarship!

The American Indian Musicians’ Scholarship is a program that provides financial support and awards to undergraduate music majors who are enrolled in a federally or state recognized tribe. Patrick was selected as one of two winners for this award from a national pool of applicants.

Patrick Donoghue is from the Samish Indian Nation and a first-year student at WSU where he is double majoring in Music Performance and Music Education. His primary instrument is guitar.

Zach Simmons

Congratulations to Zach Simmons, the School of Music’s 2024 Presser Foundation Scholar!

Nominated by the School of Music faculty for this prestigious award, Zach represents the highest level of musical and academic achievement, leadership, and personal contributions to the WSU School of Music community.

Zach is a student of Chris Dickey, associate professor of tuba and euphonium. They have been an invaluable member of the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Cougar Marching Band, Pep Band, Tuba Choir, the Low Brass Collective, and the Seattle Cascades.

Zach aspires to teach music in Washington public schools once they earn their master’s degree.
