School of Music Events

Summer

Fridays at the Clock:

Our Fridays at the Clock outdoor music series was started in 2021 to engage the Palouse and WSU communities with faculty performances throughout the summer months. This year the series was sponsored by the Office of the Chancellor, and featured concerts for children and adults in June, July, and August, as well as a special performance the evening before WSU’s first home game against Wisconsin. It was wonderful to share our music and the beautiful Palouse evening with the 100+ community members who brought their lawn chairs and picnic baskets to the lawn facing Bryan Hall Theatre!

WSU Cougar Summer Music Camp

Washington State University. Cougar Summer Music Camp. June 23-29, 2024

In our second year of Cougar Summer Music Camp, we welcomed students grades 8-12 from across the west and internationally to Pullman for a week of musical growth, which culminated in two fantastic concerts at the end of June. In addition to large ensembles, students had the opportunity to take daily classes in the recording studio, learn drumming and jazz improvisation, and perform chamber music and in combos. The camp barbeque at the Elson S. Floyd Cultural Center was a highlight for campers and counselors alike. The camp will be offered June 23-29, 2024, and we are looking forward to welcoming back returning students with the next generation of Cougar Summer Music campers.

The School of Music would love to hear from those who attended the 2023 WSU Cougar Summer Music Camp. Those who attended may submit a testimonial about their experience.

Fall

Our fall calendar is jam-packed with large and small ensembles, and solo performances from our fantastic students and faculty. We are hosting guest artists including award-winning composer Shuying Li, jazz vocalist Heather Bambrick, and the Portland Opera to Go company.

Concerts start at 7:30pm and are free to the public. If you are interested in listening from a distance, check out our livestreamed performances, offered synchronously to the live concert, on our WSU Pullman Music YouTube page.
