Music Education Instrument Fund

This fall the School of Music unveiled the Music Education Instrument Fund, a new campaign to raise funds for a cohort of instruments for future music educators studying at WSU. With the tag of “Honor the Past, Sponsor the Future”, we seek to recognize the music educators who brought each of us into the field of music and to support those who will bring education to music’s next generations. The campaign goal is to supply the School of Music with 20 of each classroom instrument for methods courses as well as a cadre of recorders, Orff instruments, and Boomwhackers. Bachelor of Music (Business)

In fall 2022 the School of Music began offering a Bachelor of Music Business degree, which combines elements of music performance and education with offerings from the Carson College of Business, and the School of Music recording studio. We are planning a Music Entrepreneurship certificate available to students in all majors in coming years.

Dr. Christian Kim arrived this past fall to lead the music business program, and is developing its curriculum and internship opportunities.
