Jazz Northwest

Jazz Northwest is the resident WSU faculty jazz ensemble. Individually, Jazz Northwest members have performed with many leading figures in jazz and popular music including Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Jeff Hamilton, Bobby Militello, Anaadi (Latin Grammy Award Winner), Aretha Franklin, Isaac Hayes, and Gladys Knight.

Jazz Northwest performs a unique mixture of original compositions and distinctive arrangements of classic jazz standards.

The current members of Jazz Northwest are David Turnbull, trumpet; Aaron Hill, saxophone; César Haas, guitar; Jake Svendsen, keyboards; Dave Bjur, bass; and Darryl Singleton, drums/percussion, joined on select performances by Sarah Miller, trombone. The group performs at WSU and regularly appears at festivals, conferences, and schools throughout the Pacific Northwest.
