Studio Voice
Jury assessment in the Voice Area for Fall of 2021 will be back to in-person juries in Bryan Hall Theatre during finals week on Monday, December 13 and Wednesday, December 15. Please click HERE to sign up for a time and then complete the Jury Repertoire Form. Both must be completed no later than Friday, December 10, 2021 at 5:00 p.m.

Elementary Voice
- Review basic vocal technique
- Prepare a minimum of 4 songs for 2 credit enrollment
- Demonstrate a basic concept of communication through music
- Carry out a coordinated listening program as required
- Demonstrate a basic knowledge and understanding of style and interpretation of the material studied through writing and performance
Intermediate Voice
- Demonstrate continued development of basic vocal technique
- Continue songs in English and Italian
- Emphasize German and French repertoire and other languages as appropriate
- Prepare a minimum of 4 songs for 2 credit enrollment
Prepare a minimum of 6 songs for 4 credit enrollment - Begin study of opera and oratorio arias
- Continued coordinated listening as required
- Demonstrate a developing knowledge and understanding of style and interpretation of the material studied through writing and performance
- Complete a Qualifying Exam for the voice faculty and an outside representative for admission to upper division standing (for advanced study, recital preparation)
Advanced Voice
- Demonstrate a firm grasp of vocal techniques, including embellishments and ornaments
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of style and interpretation of the material studied through writing and performance
- Continue study of opera and oratorio
- Begin study of French songs and literature in the contemporary idiom
- Prepare junior and senior recitals for public presentation as required for degree program.
