Concert Band Festival

WSU Concert Band Festival

Washington State University Bands along with its School of Music are pleased to inaugurate a concert band festival designed to assist high school band programs in providing an early, motivational opportunity for musical growth in a non-competitive, positive environment. Much like its orchestral counterpart, the Concert Band Festival is meant to excite, encourage and education students, developing a spirit of camaraderie and commitment. As an early festival, we offer the opportunity to receive feedback from respected clinicians who will help identify technical/expressive projects, involve your students in setting goals for the year and provide meaningful contact time with you and your orchestra.

Festival Activities

The event will include:

  • Professional adjudication and clinic of each ensemble’s performance
  • Professional audio and video recording
  • A performance by WSU Faculty and Ensembles (12:15 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.)

Date and Time

The WSU Concert Band Festival will be held on the second Friday of March each year. Performances typically begin around 8:00 a.m. in Kimbrough Concert Hall and continue throughout the day. The gala concert featuring WSU Faculty will be held in Bryan Hall Theatre, across the street, at 12:15 p.m. The concert will conclude around 1:00 p.m.
